ABOUT ME

My name is Georgia Verity, I am a Transpersonal student Psychotherapist and Counsellor working in Walthamstow and online.

I have four years of psychotherapy experience, working one-to-one and with couples. I am in the process of completing my four-year diploma in Transpersonal and Integrative Psychotherapy at the Centre of Counselling and Psychotherapy Education.

In 2023 I embarked on the CCPE diploma course in Couples Counselling and Intimate Relationship psychotherapy to further my expertise and knowledge on working with couples, I am currently working as a student couples therapist. Seeing couples online and in person.

I am awaiting to become accredited.

Finding the right therapist can be a daunting process so I always strive to create a welcoming and nurturing environment, so that clients can feel supported and comfortable during the session.

As a Transpersonal psychotherapist, my objective is to help increase self-confidence, self-worth, quality of life and to promote self-healing.

Through my practice, I like to focus on my client’s positive qualities. I aim to celebrate and encourage their skills, by way of acknowledgement and understanding.

It is important to me that I help guide the client to intuitively take the lead on their therapeutic journey, and it is my responsibility to facilitate this personal development and growth.

Due to my own therapy, I have a clear understanding of how a session can focus on anything from life’s day-to-day stresses, or delve into deeper issues.

My work with couples centres around developing effective communication, promoting strength in the relationship, modifying dysfunctional behaviour, and creating a space where partners can safely express themselves to one another.

It is important for me to extract the underlying issues and encourage growth once these have been acknowledged. I foster an empathetic environment that, when necessary, allows me to challenge the clients’ position, to bring about a new outlook in the relationship. I am confident in my work, and that I offer a non-judgemental space to share.

I have worked with and continue to work with a range of presenting issues such as:

attachment

anxiety and depression

suicidal ideation

abuse

eating disorder

dysfunctional relationships

family dynamics

sexual identity

sexual trauma

bereavement

career support
